How to Use a Surgical Wound Protector?

Using the AJP disposable wound protector is simple and involves the following steps:

• First, pinch or fold the lower ring so that it fits through the surgical incision.
• Once the lower ring is placed between the skin layers and the internal organs, fold the upper ring inward. This action brings the polymer film against the edges of the incision. Then position the upper ring flat on the skin surface.
• Finally, the polymer film fully covers the cut tissue edges and acts as a protective barrier against contamination.
